Biking for Dollars - Week 6

I have made it to 1,065 miles.  Yea!!
The amount raised in pledges to date is $34,649.00.
For those of you who have not sent in  your pledge forms yet there is no hurry.  When they arrive in the mail it will be even more motivation to reach 4,000 miles.
Another flat tire on Saturday.  We were only 2 miles from Britta's house so I just biked back and picked up our pump.  The great news is we now know what we are doing and changing the actual tire took less than 5 minutes and used one tube compared to 4 last week.  By the end of the year we will be professionals.  However, on Sunday my odometer also gave out on my bike so I had to purchase a new one.  I was OK because I was riding with Britta and her odometer was working fine, so my mileage is          accurate.
You may have noticed that three days this past week I was riding my cruiser bike and only put in 10 miles a day.  The above pictures explain "why".  My adorable granddaughter Sophia (26 months) is here visiting and she too loves to bike.  We had a great time with numerous stops along the way.  One of our trips was through the LA Equestrian Center which she loved.

Sophia with daughter Britta who rides with me.  Note our bikes in background.  We spend as much time petting horses as we did riding bikes.
I will be in touch next week on Wednesday as I leave for Iowa on July 21st.
