Biking for Dollars - Training Hard

This past weekend was the first time Britta and I rode with the Fireflies, the group  we joined who are riding from San Francisco to LA to raise money for City of Hope.  I have never worked so hard biking just trying to keep up.

The gentleman in the center is the oldest man on the ride by about 15 years and he is only 60 which makes me the oldest rider.  There are 46 men and 4 women.  This will be a true test of my endurance.  Below is our riding schedule.

Total of 550 Miles

Classes start here at Woodbury on Monday, August 27th.  This past week all the parking lots were repaved in preparation for the new school year.

The concrete work related to the ADA is almost complete.

The theatre in the new media building with the sound mixing equipment in front.  S3 Builders are in charge of the project and the company is owned by Marc Rapisardi a Woodbury graduate who just happens to be in the picture.  The soundproofing on the back wall is 6 inches thick.

The front of the new media building is all ready to be landscaped.

A couple of photos from Biking in Iowa!!

This farmer converted an old tractor for bikers.  He removed the engine and it is powered by  having ten people pedal, five on each side.

He said that it was his winter project and was for sale for $1,500.  Note that he even added cup holders for the riders.

My sister Mary and I celebrating after our team finally pedaled the tractor up a very small hill!
