Biking for Dollars - Week 41

I truly took advantage of Ken being on his spring trip to Southern China and on Saturday biked 84.92 miles and on Sunday 63.82 bringing my weekend total to 149. Total to date is 4,763 miles.

Be Aware

Almost every single Saturday and Sunday morning this cop is ticketing cars along Forest Lawn Drive.  It is rare to see  him in his hiding spot because he always has a car or motorcycle pulled over and is busy giving them a speeding ticket.  As you can see he is holding his radar gun.

The device you see that the dog is hooked to is called a "walkydog bike leash" It connects to the post on the bicycle seat and then to the dogs harness or collar.  I have ordered one for Britta to use so once we get it we will let you know how well it works.  This guy loves his and encouraged me to order one for my daughter.

This is Gary one of the city workers who has been working on the lights along the LA River bike path since I started riding last June. This was the first time there was ever a sign asking bikers to dismount so I asked him why and he said that an inexperienced rider ran into one of their trucks last weekend.

I lock my bike so it won't get stolen but a shopping cart.  However, if you live like this I guess you do whatever you must to protect your belongings.

Life along the LA Bike Path is always a new experience!

Here is my March calendar which I forgot to include in last week's update.  I am off to Hawaii  tomorrow to see Buck and Sophia so next week my update won't be until Thursday.

Thanks so much for all your support!

As of today $298,229.81 has been pledged and $200,452.81 has already been paid into the holding account.  “WOW”
