This past week I biked 118 Miles for a total of 2,373 Miles. My granddaughter Sophia is here till September 6th so my biking will be limited as she loves to ride with me which means lots of stops.
As you can see she was really excited to find the cat that she played with when we were biking together a couple of months ago. She knew exactly what street we had to go down.
Saturday morning Britta called and said that a friend of a friend wanted to bike with us to Seal Beach and that he would be at my house by 7:20 AM. Neither of us had ever met him (Sean Smith) but he wanted to find some people to bike with. A year and a half ago he was diagnosed with stage four cancer, lost 50 pounds going through treatment and during his recovery read Lance Armstrong's book and decided to take up biking. He was a delight, a good biker who grew up in Toluca Lake and knows a number of my supporters. You do meet wonderful people biking!!
Once we get to Seal Beach we have a great time paddle surfing, kayaking and riding our cruiser bikes as you can see from the photo. Lots of Toys!!

Note the chain saw that he used to create this wonderful ice sculpture.
At this restaurant in Griswold you cooked your own steak and made your own garlic bread. Here we are posing in front of the large grill. The owner is from Seal Beach.
A little line dancing along the way. I'm behind the guy with the yellow socks and Britta has the blue head band.
Here I am trying out my skills as a tambourine player. Just another stop!
This bike rider was made out of paper mache and could actually pedal the bike.
A stop at one of the beer gardens along the way with our Miller Monkey!
Here we are at the end, the Mississippi River where we dunked our front tires.
A little "Bear Time" along the way!
An old manure spreader with an outhouse on top. I used a manure spreader growing up on the farm whenever we cleaned out the chicken house. Lots of smelly memories.
I will be in touch next week!
